CATA urges prompt action to fix SR&ED administration

The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA) says industry can't wait for the recently appointed federal R&D Review Panel to report before addressing problems with the administration of the Scientific Research &Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit program. CATA. CATA is calling on the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and the ministers of National Revenue and Finance to produce a solution that brings the program's management "back into synch with its historical roots". Recent changes to the administration of SR&ED by CRA have generated a flood of complaints from small, medium and large businesses which CATA says are moving jobs offshore to more competitive environments....
