Dr Steven Burton has been appointed president and CEO of ProMetic Life BioSciences Ltd (PBL), after a reorganization of its parent firm, ProMetic Life Sciences Inc (PLS). Burton will be responsible for exploring financing opportunities in the UK, where the firm has an R&D laboratory and manufacturing facility. Most recently, he was executive VP of the Montreal-based firm's enabling technology business unit. Burton has more than 20 years of experience in the bioseparation industry and received a PhD from the Univ of Cambridge. Last November, PLS was restructured into four operating units.
