Historic NRC facility gets $8.5-million energy upgrade

The National Research Council has hired Ameresco Canada to undertake an $8.5-million energy and renewal program at its historic laboratory facilities at 100 Sussex Drive in Ottawa. The program on the 32,800 sq-m facility will include lighting system upgrades, improved indoor environmental controls, heat recovery and fume hood renewal. Annual utility savings are expected to reach $868,000 once the two-year program at the designated federal heritage building is complete.
