HRDC invests $4.65 million in S&T graduates

The federal government has announced funding of $4.65 million to finance 12 new Youth Science and Technology Internships to provide work experience for post-secondary graduates. The funding was announced by Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) at a meeting this week of the 12 National Human Resources Sector Councils. The Councils will administer the funds, which will assist up to 450 unemployed or underemployed S&T graduates in industries such as biotechnology, software, aquaculture, environment, textiles and culture. Industry invests $2 for every $1 invested by HRDC in the internships, up to a maximum of $10,000 per participant.
