Report on northern science and technology released

The Interdepartmental Committee on Northern Science and Technology has released a report to develop the priorities of its members and promote and enhance partnerships and international linkages in the region. Entitled Northern S&T: Federal Framework and Research Plan, the document outlines the activities of federal departments and agencies as well as mapping out a two-year plan for their further development. The report is being followed by a consultation process with northern stakeholders and comes at a time of federal devolution in the north, including the creation of Nunavut, an escalation of land settlement claims and increasing regional self-government The Interdepartmental Committee on Northern S&T is currently chaired by Natural Resources Canada....
