Theirry Weissenburger has been appointed head of the trade program in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a regional facilitation role in S&T for the Nordic countries, effective August 20. Weissenburger was most recently deputy director of the S&T division at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Prior to his four-year stint at DFAIT, he was an international S&T advisor at the National Research Council and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council. Weissenburger has an MBA specializing in S&T management and international affairs and a BA in administration both from the Univ of Quebec at Montreal. He also holds a degree in chemistry from the Univ of Caen (France) Weissenburger is the third of the top three individuals in DFAIT’s S&T division to depart. Those who left previously are Robert Lee (director) and Brigitte Léger (deputy director International R&D Business Investment ) who left to become S&T counsellor in Paris….
